Installation Inspiration

We have been set the task to turn our spaces into an installation piece that reflects us whether it be personality, our lives, interests, thoughts, etc. My space is located next to the window in the studio which is what I really wanted and I want to incorporate the window into my space some how.

 

I have reflected upon my love for nature throughout my work during my A level course and I would like to continue to show that within my work this year. Considering that this project will represent me, I really want to follow the brief and make a space that will make me happy. I want it to me practical but also decorated in such a way thats fit for exhibition purposes. When we visited the IKON in Birmingham, the exhibition installation "At Home with Vanley Burke" that was showen looked like it had practicality and had a lot personal elements with that.

Above is my plan for this task. I intend to use the outside and incorporate it into my space by getting natural items and bringing them inside. I also have the idea of collaging a tree onto the wall. I want to use polaroids to represent things in life that make me happy and have they handing around the space as well as hanging them on the tree. I want incorporate light into the space by using LED fairy lights and using mediums taht will reflext the light.

Eileen Downes

I looked at Eileen Downes and how she uses collage and nature together. My goal is to collage a tree onto the wall and to use polaroids as the leaves to represent life and that life would be mine. I also like the look of Nel Ten Woldes use of book pages or pictures shes taken in her work and I want to incorporate that into my collage.
